The Nothing Phone 4a Pro was announced on March 5, 2026 at a global launch event and went on sale from March 27, 2026. Pre-orders opened on March 13, 2026. It is priced at ₹39,999 in India and is the first Nothing Phone a-series model to be available in the United States a significant milestone for the brand.
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro sits above the standard Nothing Phone 4a in the lineup. It has a faster chipset, a better build, a larger display, and a more capable camera system. But two specific things stand out when buyers are evaluating whether to spend ₹39,999 on the 4a Pro the battery and the camera. These are the two areas where the 4a Pro either wins buyers over or raises doubts.
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro has a 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED display larger and smoother than the base 4a’s 6.78-inch 120Hz panel. The chipset is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 a step up from the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 in the base 4a, with both CPU and GPU performance approximately 30 percent faster. RAM is 12GB LPDDR5x and storage is 256GB UFS 3.1. The build uses a metal unibody frame the first time a Nothing a-series phone has used metal instead of plastic. The phone measures 7.95mm thick and is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance.
The back of the Nothing Phone 4a Pro has the Glyph Matrix a circular dot matrix display made of 137 LEDs that can show notifications, charging progress, and app alerts. The LED ring reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits bright enough to be clearly visible in direct sunlight. The software is Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16.
Nothing Phone 4a Pro Battery
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro has a 5,400mAh battery. Both the standard 4a and the 4a Pro share the same battery capacity. This makes the India variant one of the better-equipped versions globally on battery alone.
The 5,400mAh figure is a small upgrade over the Phone 3a Pro’s 5,000mAh battery. The real-world battery performance benefits from the efficiency of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which is built on a more efficient process node than its predecessor.
Mark Ellis Reviews confirmed after testing the standard 4a that battery life is superb and will easily get you through a busy day. The Nothing Phone 4a Pro, with the more efficient Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and the same 5,400mAh capacity, is expected to deliver at least the same and possibly slightly better real-world endurance than the standard 4a.
Nothing has also confirmed that the battery will retain at least 90 percent of its original capacity after 1,200 charge cycles which is better than the usual 80 percent claim made by most other phone makers. If you charge your phone once a day, 1,200 cycles is approximately 3.3 years of full daily charging. This battery health claim is a genuine differentiator over most rivals in this price range.
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro supports 50W wired fast charging the same as the standard 4a. A full charge from empty takes approximately 64 minutes at 50W confirmed by Mark Ellis Reviews’ testing of the standard 4a. This is a reasonable charging speed for a phone in this price range.

Nothing Phone 4a Pro Camera
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro camera has a triple rear system.
1. 50MP Sony LYT700c primary sensor — f/1.88, OIS The main camera uses the Sony Lytia 700c sensor with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size and Optical Image Stabilization. This is the same sensor size as last year’s 3a Pro. The f/1.88 aperture allows good light intake and the OIS reduces blur when shooting handheld or in motion. The main cam can record 4K 30fps Ultra XDR video which Nothing describes as similar to Dolby Vision capturing wider dynamic range in video recordings. Primary camera takes sharp images with good detailing.
2. 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto 3.5x optical zoom, OIS The telephoto camera uses a Samsung JN5 sensor with a 1/2.75-inch size and a 3.5x periscope optical zoom lens also with OIS. The 3.5x optical zoom can be extended to 7x using in-sensor crop zoom. The phone reaches up to 140x hybrid digital zoom though real-world quality at extreme digital zoom levels will always be limited. Periscope lens provide stunning zoom photos.
The periscope telephoto lens is the most significant camera upgrade on the 4a Pro over the standard 4a. The base 4a also has a 3.5x telephoto but uses a different sensor. At 3.5x optical, you can shoot portraits at a flattering focal length, capture details in distant subjects, and zoom into architecture or outdoor scenes with acceptable quality.
3. 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide 120-degree field of view The ultra-wide camera uses the Sony IMX355 sensor the same unit as last year’s 3a Pro. It has a 120-degree field of view. The 8MP resolution is lower than the other two cameras but is adequate for wide-angle shots of landscapes, interiors, and group photos. Mark Ellis Reviews noted that at the Nothing Phone 4a’s price and hardware level, the ultra-wide is fine for the purpose capturing the wider scene without being exceptional.

The front camera is a 32MP sensor with a 1/3.42-inch size. This is actually a step down from the 50MP front camera on last year’s 3a Pro which had a 1/2.76-inch sensor. Nothing has reduced the megapixel count on the selfie camera while moving to a smaller sensor. In practical use, the 32MP front camera produces clean selfies in good light and handles video calls well but buyers upgrading from the 3a Pro specifically for the front camera will notice the step back.
Nothing Phone 4a Pro camera perform well in low light and in night. Images colors may not be correct but captured images are social media worthy.
Mark Ellis Reviews tested the standard 4a’s camera and noted that the images do not please as instantly as Pixel devices or most OPPO, Xiaomi, and Vivo phones but they get the job done. Decent portraits can be achieved, and the presence of both the ultra-wide and optical zoom is a genuine advantage at this price point.
The reviewer also noted that beyond 1x zoom, the results on the standard 4a are inconsistent images are not particularly sharp and lack detail. The 4a Pro, with the dedicated periscope telephoto sensor with OIS, is specifically designed to address this weakness. The periscope lens and the dedicated Samsung JN5 sensor should deliver significantly better zoom quality than the standard 4a’s zoom performance.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4’s improved AI capabilities over the 7s Gen 4 also mean better computational photography smarter HDR, better portrait processing, and improved low-light results through software.
The Nothing Phone 4a Pro is worth considering if two things matter to you a camera with genuine optical zoom and a battery that holds its health over years.
The 3.5x periscope telephoto with OIS, the 50MP Sony main sensor with 4K Ultra XDR video, and the improved AI processing from the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 make the Nothing Phone 4a Pro one of the more capable camera phones under ₹40,000 in India. The 90 percent battery health at 1,200 cycles is a long-term ownership argument that most rivals cannot match with the same specificity.
