Vivo T5x 5G launched in India on March 17, 2026, at 12 PM IST. This is the first phone from the T5 series to arrive in India, and it comes with a focus on three things  a large battery, strong performance for the price, and durability. The phone is available in three variants, with open sales starting on March 24, 2026 via Flipkart, the Vivo India website, and authorised retail stores.

The Vivo T5x 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo chipset and comes with a 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery  which Vivo claims is the largest in its segment. The phone runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and carries both IP68 and IP69 water resistance ratings.

The Vivo T5x 5G has a flat rear panel with a square-shaped camera module that houses two camera sensors, an LED flash, and a ring light. The Vivo branding sits on the lower left of the back panel. The power button and volume keys are on the right side, and the left side is clean with no buttons. A secondary microphone cutout sits at the top.

The phone weighs 219g and the design is described by Vivo as similar to the premium Vivo V70, with the same kind of camera module layout and clean rear finish.

The biggest design upgrade over the predecessor is the IP rating. The Vivo T4x had an IP64 rating protection against water splashes but not full immersion. The T5x 5G gets both IP68 (can handle submersion up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes) and IP69.

Display

The Vivo T5x 5G has a 6.76-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The panel carries TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification, which is aimed at reducing eye strain during extended use useful for people who use their phone for long gaming sessions or watching content late at night.

The display is an LCD, not AMOLED. At this price, some competing phones do offer AMOLED panels Samsung offers AMOLED in a similar range and the LCD panel on the T5x is a point of comparison buyers need to be aware of. LCD panels generally have lower contrast ratios and do not produce true blacks the way AMOLED panels do. On the other hand, the 120Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits brightness are solid numbers for an LCD at this price.

Camera

The Vivo T5x 5G has a dual rear camera setup a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP bokeh sensor for portrait shots. The front camera is 32MP, which is a noticeable upgrade from the 8MP front camera on the Vivo T4x. This is one of the more significant upgrades on the T5x.

The rear camera supports video recording at up to 4K at 30fps. Camera modes include portrait mode, night mode, and AI-based scene detection. The phone does not have an ultra-wide lens, which is a compromise at this price. If you need an ultra-wide lens regularly, the T5x is not the right phone for that.

The 32MP front camera makes the T5x more suitable for selfies and video calls compared to its predecessor. Vivo’s camera app includes AI enhancements for both the front and rear cameras, and the bokeh sensor adds a depth-of-field effect for portrait shots.

Battery

The 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery is the headline feature of the Vivo T5x 5G. Vivo claims this is the largest battery in its segment. The silicon-carbon cell technology allows more energy to be stored in the same physical space compared to a conventional lithium-ion battery, which is how Vivo has managed to fit a 7,200mAh cell into a phone that does not feel overly heavy or thick.

As per claimed by Vivo life of this battery is Up to 40 hours of video playback, Up to 93 hours of music playback, more than 15 hours of gaming in BGMI, over 18 hours of social media usage and more than 14 hours of GPS navigation. Charging is 44W wired fast charging. Vivo has not specified an exact charging time from flat to full, but 44W charging on a 7,200mAh battery typically takes around 90 to 100 minutes for a full charge.

Vivo T5x 5G comes with three storage options: 1) 6GB RAM + 128GB storage 2) 8GB RAM + 128GB storage 3) 8GB RAM + 256GB storage

The Vivo T5x 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Turbo chip an octa-core processor with four performance cores at 2GHz and four efficiency cores at 2.6GHz. Vivo claims an AnTuTu score of over 1 million, which puts the T5x in the same performance range as other phones using the Dimensity 7400 Turbo, including the iQOO Z11x.

The phone runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 the latest version of Android. Vivo is offering two major OS updates and six years of security patches, which is a solid software support commitment for a phone in this price range. Software features include an Ultra Game Mode, 4D game vibration, and a game voice changer for voice effects during team chats all features aimed at mobile gamers

Vivo T5x 5G Price in India is as follows:

VariantPrice
6GB RAM + 128GB storageRs 18,999
8GB RAM + 128GB storageRs 20,999
8GB RAM + 256GB storageRs 22,999

The Vivo T5x 5G does exactly what its marketing says it puts a large battery and solid performance at a budget price. The 7,200mAh silicon-carbon cell, IP68 and IP69 protection, 32MP front camera upgrade, and the Dimensity 7400 Turbo chip are all genuine improvements over the T4x. The starting price of Rs 18,999 is higher than its predecessor, but the upgrades justify the difference.
